Bongcawil, and sports enthusiasts are all gearing up for the prestigious regional competition, which will bring together top athletes from the four provinces – Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental. CVIRAA serves as a qualifying event for the Palarong Pambansa, where the best of athletes represent Central Visayas on the national stage.
Mayor Raymond Jr. expressed the city's enthusiasm and commitment to providing a world-class experience for the athletes and delegates.
With the event just a few days away, LGU and DepEd are working to upgrade sports venues, accommodations, and logistics to ensure a smooth and successful hosting. Schools and training centers are also preparing their athletes to compete at a high level.
"I would like to thank each and every one for giving your best efforts. Let's continue to work together for the success of this CVIRAA,” Raymond stated during the coordination meeting last February 28, 2025 at the Bayawan-NORSU Arena.
All committees for the said event have started their respective plans and tasks since June of 2024, a month after it accepted the challenge of hosting CVIRAA 2025. When the CVIRAA 2025 theme was conceptualized, the logo and its brand followed that gave way to its identity.
Another highlight in this regional meet preparation is the CVIRAA Mobile App that seeks to provide real-time information during the events.
"The mobile application have already been tested. If you want to check the location of the playing venue, you can check the mobile app. For incidents, just visit the CVIRAA website and mobile app for incident reports,” Engr. Kurt Calijan, DepEd Division IT Officer said.
Aside from hosting, Bayawan City is also eyeing an impressive performance in the competition. Local athletes are undergoing intensive training in various sports, with the goal of securing more medals and earning a spot in the national games
The CVIRAA Meet is expected to boost local tourism and economic activity, with thousands of visitors expected to flock to Bayawan City. Officials assure that health and safety protocols, as well as necessary infrastructures, will be in place to accommodate the influx of athletes, coaches, and spectators.
