Office of the Schools Division Superintendent - Bayawan City

anelito bongcawil Dayon Kamo!

As we gather for this exciting Regional Athletics Meet, it is important to reflect on the true value of this event, not just as a competition, but as a significant milestone in the journey of every athlete and community involved.

This meet serves as much more than a platform for showcasing athletic talent: it is a celebration of hard work, perseverance, and the spirit of competition. It brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds and different communities, united by a shared love for sports and pursuit of excellence.

For the athletes, this meet provides a unique opportunity to challenge yourself, test your limits, and measure your progress. It's a chance to compete against some of the best in the region, while also settling personal goals and striving for your personal best. The results, whether you earn a medal or not, are secondary to the invaluable lessons you gain along the way -- lessons of discipline, resilience, and the power of never giving up.

For many, regional meets are stepping stones toward higher levels of competition. They are opportunities for athletes to be noticed, to qualify for future events, and to continue their journey on the path of athletic growth. The meet allows for talent identification, which can open doors to regional, national, and even international opportunities.

But beyond the personal achievements, the regional meet is also about community. It fosters a sense of belonging, pride, and unity. Spectators, volunteers, coaches, and families all contribute to the energy and excitement of the day, creating an atmosphere of support and encouragement. These events strengthen local ties, promote healthy lifestyles, and inspire future generations to get involved in sports.

In addition to the competition, the meet teaches us the importance of sportsmanship -- celebrating others' successes, respecting the rules, and playing with integrity. The values we embrace here go beyond the track and field are lessons we carry with us in all aspects of life.

As we come together today, let us remember that each race, jump, and throw represents far more than just an individual or team effort. It is a collective celebration of the athletic spirit that binds us together and the incredible potential within every one of us. I encourage all of you to compete with passion, enjoy the experience, and honor the hard work that has brought you here. Whether you are seasoned athlete or new to the field, today is about pushing boundaries, making memories, and inspiring one another.

Let us make this regional meet a celebration of determination, camaraderie, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Best of luck to all participants!

ABOUT CVIRAA 2025 LOGO

cviraa2025 logo Bayawan City is beaming with pride as it hosts the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association Sports Meet this 2025!

It calls us to SPARK THE CHAMPION WITHIN!

The imagery is the brand identity that carries the spirit of a champion – one who exudes triumphant spirit, pushing forward that strong character in him! His deliberate flying sprint transforms the spark into the flame of excellence.

Inspired by the City’s branding logo, the image is a resemblance of a confident, self-driven, high-spirited person sprinting with pride while carrying that lighted torch to lead CViRAA. The form consists of the numbers 2 and 5, representing the year 2025 and the 25th anniversary of Bayawan’s cityhood this year, not to mention the formed letter B that stands for Bayawan, the host. The green color, also the city’s branding color, symbolizes life, its resources, and the abundant harvests. The yellow gold shade in the face shows the spark of the champion within that emanates from his core. The “salakot” he wears signifies his culture which serves as his headgear in battles – the farmer figure that Tawo-tawo depicts… the Bayawanons that are honored and celebrated every harvest season, here represented by the waves of golden orange and green at the top of the head.

The brand image is also an athlete running head up high, saying “Seize the moment, play with passion!”

CVIRAA, the acronym for the athletic association in Central Visayas, is represented in 4 different colors as it is composed of the 4 different provinces – Cebu, Siquijor, Bohol, and Negros Oriental. Just like the identity of each province, each color is solid, vibrant, unique in its own… yet when grouped together radiates beauty in diversity. As a region, it is common in these provinces the greens of forests, the blues of the ocean, the golden harvests, and the fiery red energy and zeal of the people. These colors are also reflective of the life, the joys, and the excitement in all sporting events that CVIRAA upholds to. Highlighted also in bold red is the V for victory, and the A formed out of the inverted V for an arrow pointing upward showing the acts of prayers and reflections after moments of competition. Because in every game, it’s either “You win” or “You learn.”

Each athlete who competes to win is a winner in himself. And each of us – whether an athlete, a coach, a support staff, a cook, a water-carrier, a marketer, a driver, or a mere spectator – so long as we live a life of a winner, champions that strong character within!

CVIRAA 2025: Spark the Champion within!

TECH MEETS SPORTS: Bayawan City’s CVIRAA App Innovation, the Bayawanon Way

mobile-app With the emerging innovations in media and technology, we can truly say that we are now in a Digitized Era. One of the world’s most successful entrepreneur, Jack Ma mentioned that the most important thing is to make the technology inclusive – make the world change.

In Bayawan City’s hosting of the much anticipated Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association 2025 (CVIRAA 2025), system digitization is optimized through the development of the CVIRAA 2025 Mobile App. It is now a downloadable app of the Local Government Unit of Bayawan to provide a user-friendly avenue for all delegates and even the public to access relevant information about the events from billeting and playing venue locators, to schedules and results, live feeds, news updates, emergency hotlines, advisories, and even incident reporting.

At the heart of this application lies its automatic medal tally system, a game-changer for keeping track of winners in real-time. Gone are the days of waiting for updates or manually counting medals—this feature ensures that delegations, coaches, and sports enthusiasts and even the public stay informed with just a tap on their screens. This level of instant access elevates the excitement of the competition and makes following the games more engaging than ever.

But Bayawan City didn’t stop there. Understanding the challenges of navigating multiple event venues, the app includes a search engine that provides quick access to specific sports locations. With just a click, users can retrieve the exact playing venue, plus details on how to get there—whether by tricycle, Ceres bus, or habal-habal. This feature is a brilliant step in ensuring that everyone, from athletes to spectators, can move efficiently across the city without confusion or delay.

Adding another layer of digital convenience, the app also displays network availability at different locations. In an era where staying connected is crucial, this feature ensures that athletes and attendees can plan ahead, whether they need to make calls, send updates.

CVIRAA 2025 Mobile App is a one-stop-shop for CVIRAA information developed collectively by the programming team of the IT Department of LGU Bayawan headed by Engr. Edward Ryan Torreda under the support of City Mayor Hon. John T. Raymond Jr.

Bayawan City proves that hosting a regional sports meet isn’t just about providing venues—it’s about enhancing the entire experience through the combination of ingenuity, synergy, and technology. This app is a testament to the city’s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and progress. With this kind of forward-thinking, Bayawan isn’t just making history as a CVIRAA host; it’s setting a new standard for how sports events should be managed in the digital age.

Nonetheless, beyond the app, Bayawan City itself is a destination that embraces progress, hospitality, and excellence. With its scenic landscapes, warm and welcoming community, and dedication to modernization, it is more than just a host city—it is a model for how local government can harness technology to elevate experiences. Whether you're an athlete, coach, or spectator, Bayawan ensures that your visit is enjoyable and truly memorable, making you feel the need to come back very soon in this captivating place where character and discipline arise.

By leading the way in smart sports management, Bayawan City is not just making CVIRAA 2025 a success—it is cementing itself as a dynamic and innovative hub in Central Visayas. So, whether you come for the competition, the technology, or the experience, one thing is certain: Bayawan City is ready to welcome you like what they always do, the Bayawanon way!
